Ski Roundtop

Roundtop Mountain Resort in Lewisberry, PA, is known as Ski Roundtop to locals from York, Harrisburg, and the area around this small but fun ski resort in PA.

Although it has a respectable 600 foot vertical drop and 103 skiable acres, Ski Roundtop is not the kind of place you would travel long distances to visit. It’s hardly a destination resort, but there is some good nearby accommodation at the Comfort Inn in Mechanicsburg, PA, about 10 miles from Ski Roundtop, with more hotels in Harrisburg and York.

On the mountain, you’ll find 20 runs serviced by 8 lifts, including three quads. Many of the trails are rated black or double-black, though there’s nothing to trouble an experienced skier. The most challenging runs are on skiers right of the mountain: Gunbarrel and Ramrod off the Ramrod triple chair. There are also several terrain parks at Ski Roundtop.

Intermediates will enjoy the central Minuteman run best, as well as some smaller blue slopes. Beginners will find Ski Roundtop a pleasant place to learn how to ski. There’s a gentle “Discovery Area” and a larger green-rated trail area off the Drummer Boy quad chair at far skiers left.

Ski Roundtop has expanded to become Roundtop Mountain Resort, with a tubing area (served by its own lift) and paintball and zip lines for summer fun.
