There is still no ski store in downtown Philadelphia. Which is not surprising, but it’s still a shame. So where do you go to get your skis, snowboards, boots, and clothing? Here’s the PennSKIvania list of the top five ski stores near Philadelphia. Most of these will also sell discount PA ski tickets too.
Boot fitting at Buckman’s
With six PA locations, in King of Prussia, Doylestown, Ardmore, Montgomeryville, Reading, and Whitehall, Buckman’s ski store could fill up our list on its own. The KofP store is the closest to Philadelphia, but you’ll find a good selection of equipment and clothing at all locations. buckmans.com.
2. Danzeisen & Quigley
Just over the Delaware in Cherry Hill, NJ, D&Q is worth the bridge toll for its extensive ski selection and friendly staff. Also has a good online store. dandq.com.
Pelican’s Quakertown location is one of five Pelican ski stores in PA, NJ, and NY. Their known for their competitive pricing; if you find it lower elsewhere they will try to match the price. pelicanshops.com.
4. Fairman’s Skate Shop
It’s more of a snowboard place, but if that’s your slope style, Fairman’s in West Chester has some good winter clothing and equipment. fairmans.com.
You won’t find bargain-basement pricing, but you will find quality products and knowledgeable staff at a well-known national brand. Excellent exchange policies. The closest REI to Philly is in Conshohoken off 476. rei.com.
